EWOOD MRV Platform Launch 01
MRV & Science

EWOOD PGM Launches Its Integrated MRV Platform for Real-Time Carbon Monitoring

After eighteen months of field development and algorithm calibration, EWOOD PGM has officially activated its Measurement, Reporting and Verification platform across the Tiapleu concession. Combining Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, LiDAR canopy scans and ground-truth plot data from over 200 permanent measurement points, the system now produces monthly biomass estimates with a ±4 % confidence interval — well within the thresholds required by Verra's VM0009 methodology. The platform feeds directly into our public dashboard, allowing investors and registry auditors to track carbon stock evolution in near real-time. "Transparency is the foundation of credible carbon credits," said project director Kouamé Assi. "This technology removes the black box from forest carbon accounting." The MRV infrastructure will be extended to the secondary concession areas planned for 2026 onboarding.

Tiapleu Forest Corridor: 6 000 Hectares Under Active Management as Canopy Recovery Accelerates

The Tiapleu project has reached a significant operational milestone: all 6 000 hectares of the primary concession are now under active ecological management, with 1 840 ha showing measurable canopy recovery since planting commenced in Q3 2023. Field teams from Thanry CI report that pioneer species such as Terminalia superba and Triplochiton scleroxylon have achieved an average height of 3.2 m in replanted zones — ahead of the five-year growth model projections. Community wardens from four surrounding villages have been trained and equipped through the EWOOD livelihoods programme, providing round-the-clock surveillance against illegal clearing. Biodiversity transect surveys conducted in February 2025 recorded 47 bird species and 12 mammal species in recovering corridor sections, including the first confirmed sighting of the Diana monkey in the zone since 2017. The reforestation roadmap targets an additional 2 200 ha of enrichment planting before the onset of the long dry season in November.

RWA Carbon Credit Tokenisation 03

EWOOD PGM Announces On-Chain Tokenisation of Verified Carbon Credits via RWA Protocol

EWOOD PGM has entered into a strategic partnership with a leading Real-World Asset (RWA) protocol to bring its Verra-verified carbon credits on-chain, making them accessible to a global pool of institutional and retail investors through blockchain-based instruments. Each token will represent one tonne of CO₂ equivalent sequestered in the Tiapleu forest corridor, with full traceability back to the originating plot coordinates and registry serial number. Smart contracts will automate royalty distribution to community benefit-sharing accounts — a first for forest carbon projects in West Africa. "We are not replacing the traditional voluntary carbon market; we are extending its reach and its accountability," explained CFO Marie-Hélène Dufour. The first issuance batch of 50 000 credits is expected to be tokenised in Q3 2025, following completion of the initial Verra audit. EWOOD will publish the full technical architecture and audit trail documentation on its investor portal.

EWOOD PGM Obtains VCS & CCB Double Certification — A Gold Standard for Biodiversity Co-Benefits

Following a rigorous two-year validation process, EWOOD PGM has been awarded double certification under Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Climate, Community and Biodiversity (CCB) standard at Gold level — the highest tier recognising exceptional social and environmental co-benefits. The independent third-party audit, conducted by SGS Group, confirmed that the Tiapleu project delivers verified additionality, permanence safeguards and measurable improvements to local livelihoods across five surrounding communities totalling approximately 12 000 residents. Gold-level CCB status specifically acknowledged EWOOD's biodiversity corridor design, which connects fragmented forest patches across three protected area boundaries. This dual certification is expected to command a significant premium in voluntary carbon markets, with forward contracts already under negotiation with European corporate buyers committed to Science Based Targets. The full validation report is available for download in the Reports & Documents section of this website.
